The German occupation 1941–1944

On June 22, 1941 the Operation Barbarossa began. German troops crossed the borders to the Ukrainian SSR and the Belorussian SSR and advanced rapidly. From August 20, 1941 the Germans formed the Reichskommissariat Ukraine with its headquarters in Rowno (Ukrainian: Rivne).

During the German occupation of Ukraine special money was issued under the name »karbowanez«.

After 1871 days the German occupation ended on October 14, 1944.
